Education:

Dr. Amann graduated from the Technical University Vienna in electrical engineering and holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.

Prior Work:

1984-1985 Technical University of Vienna, since 1986 International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis

Current Employment/Responsibilities:

Head of the ‘Mitigation of Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases’ program at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria.

Head of the Centre for Integrated Assessment Modelling (CIAM) of the European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme (EMEP) under the Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP)

Areas of Research Interest:

His research interests include the interface between science and policy and methods for the integrated assessment of environmental issues.
